Hi #name#
Welcome to Newsletter #5. The last newsletter I sent out was on the Mervin's computers. They all sold incredibly fast! I've been so busy putting in new hard drives, imaging Windows, and preparing these great little work stations that I have had no time to write the newsletter. Of course this is not a complaint -- I could have been stuck with 95 computers that nobody wanted -- so thanks for your support.
For those of you who have a computer, listen up. Do you have a UPS (uninterruptible power supply)? These are very inexpensive devices that can save your computer from expensive repair and or data loss. UPS devices consist of a surge protector and battery. If the power fails your computer continues to run. When the batter gets within 5 minutes of being depleted the UPS safely shuts your computer down. One of the biggest causes of the" blue screen of death" is a hard drive problem. Improper shutdown of your computer can cause hard drive damage, and even data loss. Every time there is a power outage, surge, or electrical fluctuation you face the risk of a failed computer. You can purchase UPS devices at Fry's or any office supply store. The cost starts at about $39. Look for the sales. My personal favorite is the APC brand 550VA. These run around $60. I don't recommend buying these on line unless shipping is free (they are heavy due to the battery inside). I have all my computer systems on UPS devices and highly recommend their use.
That's all for now, and again thanks for making my business a success.
Eric
